FAQs

Q: What do I need for a yoga class?
A: Wear something comfortable and stretchy so your clothes do not restrict your movements and it is best to leave jewellery at home to avoid damaging it or injuring yourself with it. Practice is in bare feet and mats, blocks, belts etc are supplied for the first few classes. Mats etc can be purchased via us or through any good sport shop or through an online shop (British Wheel of Yoga Shop, YogamattersYogaMad) It is advisable to buy a good, non-slip yoga mat. Bring a blanket or warm clothing for relaxation as the body cools down once you are lying still and relaxing.
Q: Can I eat before a yoga class?
A: It is recommended that you do not eat for about 2 hours before your yoga class. If that is difficult, have half a banana or a handful of nuts to keep you ticking over!

A: If you are running late for the class, don't worry. Join the class, lie down for a moment and then join in slowly and gently as you may have missed all or parts of the warm up

A: Working in an office or at a computer for prolonged periods of time puts a strain on the neck, shoulder and back muscles; this leads to tension and stiffness. Tension can cause headaches that, left unattended, would impact on your ability to function effectively at work. A short yoga session during the working day is the perfect way to relieve stress and strain. We can come to you to teach Yoga in your workplace. Contact us for more details.
